5 Places to Visit on an East Coast Road Trip

One of the many perks of owning a car is the ability to go on road trips. The U.S. is arguably such a fantastic country for road trips that it's become practically an American tradition to take to the road and see what the country has to offer. If you're planning on taking your new Toyota out for an East coast road trip, then be sure to consider planning your route around one or more of the following five places:

  1. Niagara Falls: There are few natural wonders that are as impressive as the three waterfalls that make up the Niagara Falls. Located on the border of New York and Canada, the 10,000-year old falls is a sight to behold. Besides just enjoying the view, you can also go hiking, fishing and more at the Niagara Falls State Park, which has the distinction of being the oldest state park in the country.
  2. New York City: New York City can be a bit overwhelming since you could spend years here and never run out of things to do. However, if you plan on spending a few days in the city while on your road trip, there are a few things that you won't want to miss out on, such as taking a boat across the Hudson to the Statue of Liberty, going to the top floor of the Empire State Building and going through a stroll through the massive Central Park. Try to check out one of the many world-renowned museums if you have the time as well, such as the Met, the MoMa or the Guggenheim.
  3. Savannah: Savannah, GA is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in the country. You'll want to explore its historic district, which was named a National Historic Landmark District and with an area that covers more than 20 square miles, is the biggest in the country. You'll be able to explore parks, cemeteries, museums, monuments, mansions, and churches all while enjoying the cobblestone streets and their famous Southern charm.
  4. Myrtle Beach: Myrtle Beach is a charming beach town located in South Carolina that has grown into one of the biggest vacation destinations in the South over the years. Spend an afternoon on the 1.2-mile Myrtle Beach Boardwalk where you can enjoy the scenic views of the beach, go for a ride on the SkyWheel, enjoy all kinds of live entertainment and try out one of the many restaurants in the area.
  5. Atlanta:
  6.  Atlanta is one of the biggest cities in the South, which means that there's no shortage of things to do. We recommend hanging out in the Centennial Olympic Park, where you can find tons of fantastic restaurants, lots of live music, the Fountain of Rings (the biggest interactive fountain to incorporate the rings of the Olympics in the whole world) and the Georgia Aquarium (the biggest aquarium in the world).

If you're planning an East coast road trip in your new Toyota, consider adding some of these five places to your route. For information about our inventory of new and used Toyota vehicles, be sure to contact us at Bobby Rahal Toyota in Mechanicsburg, PA today.
